Armenia: Coalition to stop violence against women in Armenia - Protest March to stop violence against women in Memory of Zaruhi Petrosyan
[25.11.2010]
Following the tragic death of Zaruhi Petrosyan, October 1, 2010 who was savagely beaten by her husband, a coalition of a group of non-governmental organizations was formed to follow-up on the issue and raise awareness on violence against women inArmenia.

The Coalition is inviting the population, the civil society and human rights activists to join the protest march on November 25 in memory of the victim of domestic violence and engage in different actions organized for the 16 days of activism to stop violence against women.

The protesters will march to hand in open letters to several governmental bodies urging them to insure a just trial to Zaruhi’s case. The population will be encouraged to sign a petition to support the initiative and collect money to help the 1 and half year old daughter of the victim, now left orphaned.

The March will start on November 25, 2010 at 3:30 pm from the Cascade (near Tamanyan statue).

Join us and raise your voice so crimes like domestic violence don’t stay unpunished!
