Armenia: Meeting of the South Caucasus Network of Human Rights Defenders with Ambassador Lenarci

On April 6, 2010 ODIHR Director Ambassador Janez Lenarcic and ODIHR Human Rights Adviser Benjamin Moreau met with Network members from Armenia. Representatives from the Human Rights House Foundation, international partner of the Network, and Human Rights Center, coordinator in Georgia, also participated in the event.
The Network members updated OSCE/ODIHR about the situation of human rights defenders in the South Caucasus, Armenian members also focused on post-election violence in 2008 and subsequent persecutions. The results of the Trial Monitoring Project carried out by the ODIHR in the aftermath of those events were also discussed.
At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Lenarcic expressed interest in continuous cooperation with the Network.
